Brittany Lafaille

Where are you from? 

I’m from Fair Play, a small town in South Carolina with a Dollar General and no red lights! I just moved to Chattanooga in January 2023!

How long have you been tattooing and what brought you to tattooing?

I have been a graphic designer since right out of high school, (‘09 is fine, and all that). I thought that was my forever job, cut and dry! But in 2016, one of my design clients was opening a tattoo shop nearby! We joked about me tattooing for months while he got it up and running, and once he did, he reached out to see if I was serious and if I’d like to do an apprenticeship! I was so shocked, but of course, I said heck yes! Tattooing found ME and I fell in love!

What is your art/tattoo style?

With my digital design background, I’ve always been a fan of bold line work, and color! Like a sticker, but make it permanent! I started tattooing by walking the line between American traditional and neotraditional tattoos. I found myself having the most fun when I was doing something Disney, Harry Potter or other pop culture nostalgia, so I decided to hone in on it, trying to capture the spirit of the originals as closely as I can! (Adding a hidden Mickey here and there!) I’m a sucker for nostalgia!
